Head Wrestling
Coach
- Jason Barnett
Jason Barnett enters his second season as a Head Wrestling
Coach. Last season, while at North Union High School, Coach
Barnett had a 2nd Place OHSAA State placer, 3 OHSAA District
Qualifiers, and had 5 wrestlers place in the OHSAA Sectional
Tournament.
Collegiately, Coach Barnett
was an All-American and was Regional Wrestler of the Year
at Iowa Central Community College in the 149 pound weight
class, where he finished with a record of 38 – 5. At The Ohio
State University, Coach Barnett had a redshirt freshman record
if 12 – 6. As a sophomore he improved to post a record of
26 – 9.
As a high school wrestler
at St. Francis DeSales, Coach Barnett was a 4-time state placer
and three time state finalist. He was a two-time state champion
and was chosen as the 2000 Division II Central District “Wrestler
of the Year”. He ended his high school career with an overall
record of 171 – 11, going 44 – 0 as a high school junior.
Coach Barnett was named a USA Wrestling Magazine National
High School All American. At DeSales, Coach Barnett earned
10 varsity letters: 4 in wrestling, and three each in football
and baseball. |
